Service

The field notes program of the inm - initiative neue musik berlin e.V. offers a wide range of options for professionalisation of and networking within the independent contemporary music scene in Berlin.

Workshops: ONpaper

In this year's online workshop series ONpaper, which we are organizing again together with ON Cologne, experts will teach basic skills for working in the independent scene.

Under the heading "Application Fitness" we will get you ready for project funding in the spring. In addition to classic workshops with introductions to the funding landscapes in Berlin and Cologne, application writing or accounting, this year we are exploring new formats such as Meet the Jury or informal get-togethers on funding together.

The workshops are aimed at artists from the independent contemporary music scene in Cologne and Berlin and are free of charge. We ask for binding registration.

Workshops: Sustainability Perspectives in Contemporary Music

Interest in sustainable development and its many interwoven ecological, social and economic dimensions has increased significantly in the cultural sector in recent years. The topic is also becoming more relevant in cultural funding, and applicants are often encouraged to consider sustainable and climate-friendly approaches when implementing projects.

To ensure that funding recipients are not left to deal with these additional demands on their own, the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Goethe-Institut, Impuls neue Musik, inm / field notes, Musikfonds and ON Cologne, in cooperation with 2N2K, are offering a series of workshops to develop skills in the field of sustainable development.

communication

We are happy to help with acute issues for specific projects as well as with the long-term planning of communication strategies. We provide consultation and support at industry standard rates, create project-based communication strategies and provide assistance with long-term planning of marketing and PR strategies.

social media

Social media work is more important than ever, especially for the independent scene. A consultation with Fillipp Vingerhoets is designed to provide a brief overview of the basics and tools available, as well as concrete options for evaluating specific potential benefits of various social networks for artists in the independent experimental and contemporary music scene.

audience development

Contemporary music audiences tend to belong to a small educated elite, and listening experience correlates strongly with knowledge of the art form. Recent audience research highlights the need to create new framework conditions that unlock increased participation and a positive listening experience. Therefore, we at inm want to encourage the development of relationships with increasingly diverse audiences.
