The exploratorium berlin invites applications for a position from 1 May 2023 for

Event Support

We are looking for a person with organisational and technical skills as well as an interest in free improvised music and a willingness to work also evenings and weekends.

Tasks:

  • Organisational support for workshops and concerts: communication with lecturers and performers (in English if necessary), preparation and follow-up, temporary on-site support.
  • Setting up and dismantling the premises for events
  • Participation in the realisation of livestreams and other forms of documentation and archiving of events
  • Technical and instrument maintenance
  • If necessary, responsible supervision of selected events
  • Extension of the scope of duties by arrangement

Desired profile:

  • Interest in free improvised music in an artistic and/or pedagogical context or willingness to get involved in this field.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience
  • Structured approach, organisational skills, ability to act independently, ability to work under pressure, flexibility
  • Ability to work in a team, social competence, reliability
  • Written and spoken English (and German)
  • IT competence: handling Office programs, ability to independently familiarise oneself with unknown software, ability to develop one’s own problem-solving strategies
  • Competence in dealing with presentation and documentation media and related software or willingness and ability to familiarise oneself with them (photo, video, audio, livestream, PA, beamer etc.)
  • Ability to research content and skills independently
  • Interest in further education
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, especially weekends and evenings
