Sabine Scho, Sebastian Felix Ernst, Golden Diskó Ship – Haus für einen Boxer / Casa per un Pugile / House for a Boxer (Hatje + Cantz, book/CD)

A poet, a multi-instrumentalist and an architect meet at the Villa Massimo in Rome and think about gravity and fist fights: that about is the story that led to the publication of the trilingual, multimedia publication »Haus für einen Boxer / Casa per un Pugile / House for a Boxer« on Hatje + Cantz. Sabine Scho, Theresa Stroetges, also known as the Golden Diskó Ship, and Sebastian Felix Ernst dealt in their respective media with the antique bronze statue of a boxer and the Palazzetto dello Sport designed by architect Pier Luigi Nervi. The trilingual book documents not only the results of the scholarship holders, but also their collaborative working process, revealing thematic overlaps and creative alliances. Each of Scho's poems finds a counterpart in Stroetge's twelve pieces based on field recordings, just as Ernst's practical reflections on architecture resonate in them.

Disclaimer: field notes editor Kristoffer Cornils has worked regularly with Theresa Stroetges in the past, releasing music from various projects on the label he co-runs, ANTIME. He has introduced Stroetges and Sabine Scho to each other.
