If it has Sofia Jernberg's name on it, you’re in for a surprise. The same is true in the case of »Koma West«t, her collaboration with Petter Eldh's Koma Saxo ensemble, which is joined on this album by Berlin greats such as Lucy Railton and Otis Sandsjö. This musical love letter to the Swedish west coast is decidedly international just as stylistically wide-ranging: on the 14 tracks, traditional jazz formulas only serve as a point of departure for the musicians who will take you on a journey into previously unknown realms.
