Mark Hannesson's music often is about people, be it his children, the shuffling of feet, or the victims of a US drone attack in Pakistan. "signposts" is about composers, the ones listed in the Wandelweiser catalogue of 2016. Their music can be heard in the fragments chosen freely by the pianist.

Anastassis Philippakopoulos writes melodies: the melody has become a piece. There are scales and permutations, variations but no motifs. The melodies are mostly about what he sees: the sea, the sky, mountains.

Dante Boon's Duo (2h) is a duo for pianist. There are 40 measures, and each hand has a solo twice. It feels like a very personal piece to its composer and had never been played in public before this recording was made.

Slow, quiet, and repetitive, Rishin Singh’s music is concerned with relationships. His compositions are not discrete objects, but entanglements between performer, audience, composer, rhythm, melody, harmony, place.

DANTE BOON is a pianist and composer. A member of the Wandelweiser composers collective, he is also known as an interpreter of experimental piano music. Boon has premiered over 50 works, many of which were written specifically for him.

His "clarinet (and piano)" (2016) was recommended by Andy Hamilton in The Wire's Top 10 albums of contemporary music. The New Yorker called Boon a pianist with an "uncommon affinity for music that demands patience, steady hands, and a subtle touch.” National Sawdust's Steve Smith listed one of Boon's 2018 solo recitals in New York in his top 10 of memorable musical events.

RISHIN SINGH is a musician and artist living in Berlin. His work has been seen and heard throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. “out from the blinding white” is Singh’s first release on Edition Wandelweiser Records and his first CD of solo piano music. Performed by Dante Boon, the release consists of two compositions dedicated to two composer/pianists: Boon himself and Eva-Maria Houben.
